Letter from Co-Founder, Jessalin Lam: A Special Place In My Heart ♥️

Dear Asians in Advertising Community,

Thank you so much for believing in us and supporting the growth of our organization from the beginning to what we have grown into today. I am so grateful for everyone I have met through AIA from our board members, volunteers, community, partners, and allies. You all will always have a special place in my heart.

It’s been a challenging journey navigating my new chapter as a working mother and it is time to focus on my family and taking care of myself. No matter what, health and family come first and know that you will never get that time back to spend with your loved ones. My daughter recently turned 19 months and I want to spend more time with her to build memories together as well as take care of myself.

As I prioritize what is important to me, mental health is essential and this is a rest season for me to reflect and recharge myself. As Ronnie Dickerson Stewart has reminded us, “Rest is not a luxury. It is a fundamental human need” and there are different types of rest (physical, mental, emotional, sensory, creative, social, and spiritual) that impact your life, lifestyle and leadership).

It was a tough decision to voluntarily resign from Asians in Advertising. I am sending you all so much love and words cannot express the gratitude I have for you. Happy to stay in touch and feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jessalinlam

With Love,

Jessalin Lam
